After leaving Dubbo quite early without a hitch, we enjoyed catching up with Edward for breakfast at the International Airport.
During a walk around the passenger duty free lounge, Michael tried out some gin which involved dressing up a bit. Unfortunately the photo the girl took of us is blurry. Perhaps she had tried a few too many samples!
Our 7 hour flight with Garuda Airlines was comfortable and incident free and we landed on time in Jakarta. Michael is still trying to work out how the 6 young men who were travelling together kept getting beers all the way through the trip. They took turns to “shout”, appearing from the back of the plane with handfuls of cans. We think they were helping themselves. Regardless, they were well behaved.
The interesting experiences started when we got off the plane. Jakarta International is not a patch on Sydney. Ordered chaos and lots of it. The best thing was we had our customs approvals done during the flight by immigration officials and this saved us waiting in some long queues.
After checking into our “resort hotel”, Michael discovered his brand new back pack was wet. It smelt as though the box of prawns we saw going around the baggage carousel with all the bags had leached onto his. What are some people thinking?
The beer and wine menu with dinner had a large selection of cocktails, a small selection or beers and one wine – a wine cooler! We resisted the temptation to go to the karaoke bar after dinner.
