Amsterdam Highlights 2

Over the last two days we have seen some of the key locations in Amsterdam. We spent several hours in the Van Gogh Museum which we both enjoyed. We also took a canal boat tour and learnt some of Amsterdam’s history. We have done a lot of walking, practising for our walk along the Rhine, and a lot of pub stops, also practising!

We have eaten one of the national foods – pea soup with sausage and bacon. Perfect for the summer weather ( it is very cold… Much more so than we expected).

Both of us have almost been run over by bicyclists. It is very important to look in all directions for cars and trams and bikes, but we are still looking in the wrong direction. Cars drive on the wrong side of the road here. Hopefully we will get the hang of it soon.

We have planned out the next phase of our trip and will head to Cologne tomorrow by train. We have had to cut short some of our walking trail as we are going to house sit in a town called Konigstein from 4-8 July.

Michael has planned the next section of the trip to get us to this place on time. We will look after a poodle and also some paying guests on the weekend we are there. I have been using a different technique for photos. They are not drawings Michael has done (yet).
