Dinner in Rudesheim was at the Hotel Lindenwirt. It was obviously the most popular in town. There was entertainment and some dancing and we chose the house specialty for two people which was the Rheingaven Sauerkrautplatte. It was huge and delicious. I have included a photo of what we left as well. No way could we eat it all.
The plate included saumagen ( which is like a meat loaf), roast sausage and a knuckle of pork (each) with sauerkraut and soft mashed potatoes.
We also bought a bottle of wine (which cost more than the food). We are not as keen on the German wine and have decided we are better off to stick to the beer. It is very good.
