Today we only travelled a few kilometers – to two important castles.
The first one we visited was the Castle of Hohenschwangau – built by King Maximillian. It was relatively small when compared to the castle his son Ludwig II built. Unfortunately, Ludwig was deemed mad and only had 170 days in the castle he built. We were surprised that less than one third of Ludwigs’s castle (Neuschwanstein) was finished. Neuschwanstein castle has been made famous by Walt Disney as the image depicting Disney productions.
Michael was disappointed by the visits to these castles because he thought the castles were only a copy of other places / others important locations. I thought they were pretty cool.
My camera was out of order, so I have borrowed images for this blog.
After our castle tours, we boarded a boat on the Forggansee Lake and spent two hours cruising the beautiful serene waters of this area.
