The apartment we are renting in a suburb of Trier has push bikes we can use. On the first day we rode into the centre of Trier and caught the train back home with our bikes.
Today we set off with a packed lunch and rode northwards, back towards Cochem, to our final destination of the small village of Schweich. The bike trail was well signed and told us it was 13 km (each way).
It was such great fun.
For most of the trip we travelled along the river, but some parts of the track took us through suburbia and an industrial estate mostly working on recycling.
I bravely took some photos of Michael as I was riding behind him to show you the beautiful scenery we were enjoying.
We passed lots of people of all ages riding bikes along the trail.
We stopped beside the river and ate our bread, meat and cheese. I took this opportunity to “pad” my seat with my jacket as I found the bike seat a bit hard. Michael took the photo of me. I did look a bit silly, but it was much more comfortable.
Next holiday I would like us to spend a week riding from Koblenz to Trier. I think it would be quite doable.
Any takers?
Perhaps I could organise it for us (possibly next August or September).
