Walking Tour of Brussels

We headed towards the Grand-Place (about a ten minute walk from our apartment) as we had found out that Brussels was hosting the bi-annual Flower Carpet this weekend. Belgium is famous for producing begonias and this display celebrates this. The ‘carpet’ only lasts 3 days because it is made of flowers only. It was quite impressive but unfortunately this weekend is going to be the hottest weather in weeks (up to 37°C).

We braved the weekend crowds to find the Belgium Strip Comic Center and I took a few photos of this shop (for you Sam). If we were not carrying backpacks we would have bought a few souvenirs. Lots of graphic novels.

We spotted many amazing chocolate shops and when we had morning tea we were given a small chocolate. I resisted mine, but Michael couldn’t. He said it was amazing.
