Ottawa to Monteal

The three of us caught a taxi from our hotel to the main railway station. It has been snowing for a few hours and the temperature was -8C (but with windchill felt like -22C).

The train to Montreal was very comfortable – nice and warm and free wifi. It look just under two hours for us to get there. The trip took us mostly through countryside which had lots of large fallow paddocks lightly covered in snow. The houses we past were very bare compared to what we are used to. Nothing left outside and no gardens.

The apartment we have booked in Montreal is in “downtown” Montreal and we are hoping to use this as a base to explore Old Montreal, the Old Port and Chinatown. This will of course depend on the weather.

The photos are views of Mount Royal (Montreal) from our unit.

These two photos are from the pub Brutopia – it brews its own beers which were very nice. Reminded me of Brussels.
