Today we set off for this farm armed with the ordinance maps (which I cannot read and actually have no interest in) and our three dogs of course.

Things started to go bad when Michael was not feeling well and he had used all the food supplies he had brought. We started to head back and unfortunately we got lost.

Michael had to lift the largest dog (Robbie) over the fence in three places and we would then call Leo over as he could jump (a little). I slid over on the mud, but luckily my shoulder stood up to it, perhaps not the bottom.

When we realised we were on the wrong path, we had to climb through a fence lined with stinging nettles and blackberry bush. But we made it!

PS we were never in any real danger except for Michael’s low blood sugar. We have designed a few safety measures for tomorrow’s walk.
