We have worked out why this place is so different to anywhere else we have been to in France. It is new and it is clean.
The town was started in the mid 1800s and as such has well planned streets and buildings. The area has a fishing port and marina and is famous for its oyster farms. Michael is having a brilliant time eating oysters for as little as €4.50 a dozen.
The beach has soft white sand, so different to what we had seen when we were in Nice and Marseille years ago. There was this clever sand sculpture we noticed a homeless person had done hoping for tips from visitors. It must have taken him ages to dig the trench let alone sculpt the figures.
We enjoyed a drink on our way back to the apartment to get ready for dinner. We had not had lunch deliberately as we had decided to take Melinda’s advice to try a seafood platter.
