Our seven hour train trip from Wroclaw was very pleasant. It was an older train than the one we had been on to get to Wroclaw, but we ended up having the carriage to ourselves the whole way.
We stopped at about 15 stations on the way. And more than half of those were being rebuilt. The whole country is being rebuilt, but reading the history of the cities, it is totally understandable and the country is doing pretty well considering what it has been through in the last few hundred years. Gdansk for example was pretty well flattened in WWII.
Our apartment is tiny and our bed is a sofa bed. Possibly the weakest one we have stayed in since we left home, but it is right in the area where there are lots of flash new hotels, on the Motwala River. This a a view from our room, plus getting into our building.
We have not seen much of the area yet, but did go to the markets to buy some food for dinner. Michael was caught out buying what he thought was fillet steak and now he thinks it is chuck. He is not too happy. We also went to a nearby Pool Hall which was the closest thing to a bar we could find and had a big beer each for $2 each. Michael is going back tomorrow to try his hand at the electronic dart board.
This is 50 m from our front door.
One thing I must share is a photo of a policeman sporting an undercut at one of the stations we stopped at. Don’t think he would get away with that in Aus.
By the way, our last night in VROTZ WAV (Wroclaw) was very quiet. And guess what we spotted out our window this morning? Two police officers on patrol.
Where were they the previous two mornings??

well what an interesting holiday. Food and drink doesn’t seem as good in Poland cf Francais.
When do you return
