OK…..Never Say Never

I never thought I would. That’s for sure. Michael had before in France 7 years ago. But we were in Smith’s Street Chinatown after a few hours shopping and decided to try them. They were delicious. Really.

Rather than frog porridge, Michael chose the chilli frog which he watched being cooked in earthenware pots with loads of dried chillies.

Now this was seriously hot. Luckily I had purchased some cleaning cloths earlier in the afternoon. (Those who know me will know that this is not an unusual thing for me to buy, even when I have to lug them in my backpack. You can never have enough cleaning products and they look great for windows.) They could actually be bidet towels, but they turned into useful napkins-come-face washers.

We also tried some more common food. Steamed chicken and rice and a BBQ pork / chicken combo dish. Washed down with a cold beer each.

We had a fun few hours here and bought some cool stuff, especially for Sienna, Harry, William and Sidney.

This part of Singapore has undergone a facelift since our last visit and it looks great. No pushy store owners, except the tailors, which makes for a pleasant time. We were pretty much shopped out by the end of this though, having spent the morning in Bugis Street where we bought some cool gadgets.

Michael insisted I take these photos as they made him smile.

You could choose the top one or the one that was a bit further away – the far Q 2!
