……albeit, not for very long.   

 We head to Milan today (11 June) on our way to a house sitting assignment in Origlio which is not quite 8Km slightly north of Lugano. We will arrive at our hosts’ home on Saturday 13 June where we will meet the family, and most importantly, their two dogs Lilly and Pixie. We are to spend 16 nights in their home, 14 of them on our own, in charge of the dogs. During this time we will have the chance to explore the canton of Ticino. We pick up a hire car in Lugano on 13 June and hopefully I can manage driving us around the local area/s after we have walked the dogs each day.

We believe it will be cheaper to shop in Italy and our hostess has offered to explain the best places to go for this. We are expecting to need both Swiss Francs and Euros for this two week holiday.

After house sitting, we will fly to Lisbon for four nights and then spend almost four weeks in Spain – mostly in Andalucia. I have done all the bookings for accommodation, using AIRBNB, and all the bookings for our train and bus trips, with one exception (Seville to Ronda). So fingers crossed there aren’t too many glitches.

We spent almost two weeks in August 2011 in Switzerland and then on Lake Como at Varenna. We know a little bit about what to expect, so we are very excited.
