Nothing Ventured….Nothing Gained

The sun came out this morning, so after we finished walking the dogs, we headed to Lugano. I was driving and we had no suitable map to guide us to where we wanted to go. Mick felt very uncomfortable about the whole thing, but I just kept looking for blue parking signs and eventually I found one very close to the centre of town. We had no idea how much it was going to cost us to park there but we did not care. Mick was so relieved to get out of the car and keen to work out where we actually were.  How different men are from women? I was not bothered at all.

We walked south towards the lake and were rewarded with beautiful views. My snap does not do it justice but you’ll get the idea.

We found the Piazza Indipendenza very near to the Casino. This statue was fabulous while Mick loved the hydrangeas.

Having worked out our bearings (ever so slightly), we agreed we would come back another day by bus and spend longer in Lugano. We bought a day pass for the bus and when we compared the CHF25.60 for both bus tickets with the CHF4 for parking for about 3 hours- we realised we just need to be prepared to take a few more risks. I hope we will come back in the car at least once more before we leave Switzerland.

The dogs were pleased to see us when we got back; the chihuahua in particular.

  1. Hi,
Jude and I spent a day in Lugano when we had a day trip from the Italian lakes. We loved it. My great disappointment was they did not stamp our passports!!! We loved just walking around and looking at things, people, delis and remember the most amazing fruit shop with so many types of mushrooms so many colours so different.
I love reading your blog and try and remember you 2 are ordinary people from Tamworth and used to walk to school with my twin!!!
    Keep enjoying
    Bel and Jude xx
