Parco Civico and Via Nassa – LUGANO

We ventured back into Lugano today to explore two of its famous areas.

Parco Civico is located along the lake’s edge right in the middle of town. Even though summer has officially started, the flowers are in full bloom and the gardens looked amazing. There were several tree stumps that had been carved. This one depicts a pregnant lady (I think).

Mick is posing in front of this beautifully topiaried tree. Unsure if that is even a word!

We shouted ourselves morning tea, and even though I hate to admit it, we had it at McDonald’s. And, not for the first time. This was our third visit and the same woman has served us each time. We find that it is easier to point at some things listed on the menu at Maccas then it is to try our pathetic Italian to order a coffee. Plus, the toilets are beaut there as well.

Our next stop was Via Nassa which starts (or finishes) off Piazza della Riforma. This street is historically significant, but quite beautiful in its own right. The street was filled with loads of high end shops where we could only afford to window shop.

Mick was interested in this butcher shop, but again, he could only afford to look.

This next shop caught my eye.
