Seville – DAY 1

Some of you (especially you Gerard) will be relieved to know that I actually did not delete the photos. It appears my card is damaged, or perhaps my camera is totally broken, and so I have used my iPhone today. The quality of those photos is not quite as good, but you should get the gist of our excursion.

Mick was once again keen to find our bearings in the narrow streets nearby to where we are staying. I couldn’t resist snapping these two as they walked past. How hot must they have been?

The heat here reminds me of the height of summer in Bourke, Western NSW. So, when we were approached by a sprucker selling tickets on the hop on hop off bus tour, it looked tempting. Unfortunately for us, I should have done my research before I paid for the three of us. The Green Bus Company has terrible reviews, and after an hour on one of the tours, I can understand why. It apparently is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and I am pretty sure we were on the original bus.

Seville is a very pretty city and there will be lots we will explore further over the next few days, but after the tour we needed some food. We tried a local tapas bar where we sat under huge umbrellas that were misting fine jets of water over us to help keep us cool.

While we were enjoying our lunch, a group of men came along the street serenading bystanders with their singing and clapping. Wow.

A night on the town looking for Flamenco is in order.
