House Sitting Destination

Our hostess picked us up in Perpignan and drove us to her home pointing out interesting villages, vineyards and tourist attractions on the way. We actually need 7 months here and not 7 weeks to see it all.

Her beautiful home is on the edge of a gorge (Gorges de Sant Jaume) near the village of Caudiés (cor-de-ayzes) in Fenouillet (fen-we-ay).

It is cold outside at the moment but the leaves are still mostly on the trees.

There are two castle ruins just a short hike away – you can spot one in this photo. Hopefully we will climb to them both while we are here.

The home is built out of rocks, on the rock and comprises five levels. We are going to get our exercise just climbing up and down the stairs for the next two months.

This is why we’re here. These three girls lay one egg each a day and the sheep – Bee Bee and Betty are very tame. We took them for a walk yesterday and I will take some photos of that for another day. They were hoping I was going to let them out when I went and took this photo.

There are two cats as well who seem fine with us being here. They like lots of cuddles.

We are very excited to be here.

This afternoon we are driving to Carcassonne to farewell our hostess and then I am to drive Mick and I back home where we commence our assignment.  Fingers crossed all goes without too many hiccups.

Stay tuned.
