We had decided it would be safe to go for a walk today as it was Thursday. There are hunters up this way who go shooting for wild pigs every weekend and Wednesday and we don’t want to be caught in any crossfire.
Our destination was this little chapel that was originally built in the 10th century but has been added to and restored since then. It does not look like it is used any more other than as a tourist/ walker stop off.

It was just under 5km return on this walk through the St Jaume Gorge. We followed the most amazing running water for most of the way.

We crossed several bridges on the way. It was quite cool under the foliage of all the trees but once we hit the open ground near the chapel it was beautiful and warm.

The pathway was very narrow in some spots but we were amazed at the engineering that had gone into a seemingly remote walk.

We could see the village of Caudiés below us from the chapel and have decided we will walk there another day to explore the village on foot. So long as we don’t go there between 12 and 3pm as just about everything is shut then.
Mick had a drink of the fabulous water at a water font at the chapel.

Once home, feeling proud of ourselves for not slipping over, we had morning tea. While sitting at the kitchen table watching the three chooks on the window sill eating the oats we left for them, we got a nasty surprise when we heard some noise and spotted a fox trying to get the chooks. It was literally <2m from us. So we raced outside and scared it off and are now a bit worried about having the chickens out in the yard. We though the foxes would only be a problem in the night.
We then did a repair job on a fence on the property in the hope it would keep the wild pigs out of the yard.
In all, a very different morning than one we would have at home in Pelican Waters.
