This morning we retraced our steps from yesterday but continued on to the small village of Caudiés. It was just under 8km in total.

Once past the Notre Dame church we had to walk on the road for about a kilometre.
Two important sites in the village we visited were the church and the Maire (the mayor’s office – pronounced ‘mary’).

The flags were out which meant it was open today. It only opens 3 days per week. Every village has a Maire.

This part of France is very poor and I think that is reflected in the drabness of the streets and houses.

We visited the only restaurant / bar in the village – L’Emotion and successfully ordered ourselves a coffee. We visited the boulangerie and bought ourselves a fabulous baguette and Mick was pleased that the local store had a long neck of the beer he likes for €2,40 ($3.65).

We still need to visit one of the many Caves in this area to try the local wines. You can see the vineyard on the right in this last photo of the day.
