Sabarda Cathar Castle Ruins

We see this ruin outside our back door. It looks huge.

It wasn’t a very long walk to the top, <1km, but it was steep and slippery after yesterday’s rain. Because it was Thursday though we were safe from being shot by hunters.

Once at the top it was actually quite small.

We could see the other castle we visited last week, Chateâux Saint Pierre from here as well.

We got a great view of the house we’re staying in from up here too.

The lowest house in the photo is our place. Right across the narrow road is the gite or holiday home. Then a row of 6 houses together. Most of these are empty.

On the way home, Mick tried to make friends with one of the neighbourhood dogs who wasn’t quite as keen.
