I’m always after the best price for our flights ….
….. within reason.
The departure time, the lay-over time and the airline are also factored in.
We flew Qantas to Hong Kong in record time. It was an excellent flight with great service. Getting in early didn’t help us however, because we had to get a boarding pass for the next leg, and Lufthansa was not open. After an hour we were able to get our passes and proceed through yet another security check.
We knew we had a five hour wait but we were going to spend some of that in a user-pay lounge.
Or so we thought.
We asked for a price and were told it would be $130AUD each for a two hour pass. I told Mick I could get a better price using LoungeBuddy – a new app I had. The app quoted me $68 each for three hours – a huge saving – woo hoo. The only problem was after I put in all my details, including my credit card info (twice), nothing happened. We then panicked thinking I had charged over $270AUD to my card…. perhaps for nothing. It can take a few days before transactions appear – so there was no use worrying. Fingers crossed I didn’t blow our budget.
Instead of the luxurious lounge I’d promised, Mick dined at Burger King while I ate leftover snacks from the previous flight.
Hong Kong Airport is massive and we had to catch a train to our gate.

We were there very early as you can see. Hardly anyone there.
The next flight too was excellent. We both got some sleep (I think the nightcap of Cognac did it for Mick 😴) and arrived in Munich on time at 5am – 31 hours after we had left our home. No wonder we want to make the most of such a trip – hence our 7 week itinerary.

All going to plan so far.
Are you going to Munich
Yes we have just arrived. 🦄
