No, I don’t plan on documenting all 15 days like this, but we have successfully completed our first day solo, and we’re pretty pleased with ourselves.
Last night, before our hosts left for their Irish holiday this morning, I drove us into Neumarkt (pronounced noy-mark-T) for dinner at an Italian Restaurant. Yes, Italian.
I drove so I could learn the quirks of the Land Rover. And, I only drove on the wrong side of the road ONCE. Mick said there was a nasty smell in the car, but everyone did giggle.
The restaurant was called La Fortunella, and the food was brilliant. Perhaps I thought so because I was starving, as we didn’t eat until after 9pm. Almost my bedtime. 😴

Today though, we have successfully taken the dog for her two walks, mucked out the horses’ stables (twice), watered the vegetable garden, administered daily medicine to one of the horses, and travelled (back) to Neumarkt to buy our supplies. Which included some beers for Mick. These ones cost 79 cents each plus an 8 cent deposit on the bottle.

He decided he is not too keen on it though, but I’m confident he will drink all six he bought (over the next few days of course).
He bought ONE of this beer.

A craft beer made in Bavaria for €2.70 plus 10 cent bottle deposit. (Almost as much as a bottle of red! 🍷). It has an IBU of 77 – which Mick says is excellent and an alcohol content of 8.9%. Mick thinks he’s in Himmel (heaven) – but I told him he is in Deutschland.
We also found a wine from the area where we house sat in France 7 months ago, and it made us nostalgic. This wine is fabulous.

One scare for me today though was when I took the Collie for her second walk this afternoon. I had just taken her off her lead when we both spotted a wild deer. She took off and I followed, running even, calling her name and commands in German – commt / bleibt / platz ……
And, she commt, bleibt and platz(-ed).
What a good girl. 🐶
