Lithuania 🇱🇹 to Poland 🇵🇱

When you are travelling through different countries, you have to be prepared to lose some days in the process. Today was one of those days.

We left our Vilnius accommodation at 11.00am and there was our taxi waiting to take us to the airport – right out the front. It cost less than €5 ($7.50AUD). The airport is very close and I think taxi trips are cheap. Our flight with the Polish airline LOT was quick and on time – 45 minutes to be exact.

I had booked us an airport transfer for Warsaw. Something I rarely do. We normally use public transport because we have this massive distrust of taxis! Anyway, our transfer driver did NOT arrive. (Luckily I had not prepaid for this trip).

Admittedly it took us awhile to get through customs, actually there was no customs, but, Mick’s bag was missing.

Luckily, it turned up about 20 minutes later.

We ended up catching a taxi and found our accommodation right in the centre of Warsaw old town. The taxis here are metered and the price was fair. I’m still not sure he ripped us off a bit though.

The crowds were enormous.

We are on the first floor of this building but it is surprisingly quiet.

We headed off to find this craft beer restaurant.

Across the road is the other part of the restaurant and we stopped in for one beer only.

Why only one at 14PLN ($5.25AUD)?

Because they did not serve wine.

Idiots!!

Anyway, I’m pretty sure Mick will be back.

Warsaw is amazing. We are already happy to be here. We enjoyed our time in Poland before because of this scenery.

We ended up at a restaurant right in the middle of the square.…

… where we enjoyed some traditional food.

Not a late night for us though – travelling takes its toll.

If the sun is out, we will do a walking tour. I’ve become a big fan of these.

Good night.
