We had a dream run getting to Warsaw Chopin Airport this morning. Our accommodation had organised a taxi for us. It confirmed one thing, the taxi driver who brought us into Warsaw DID rip us off. He used Fare 2 instead of Fare 1. Mick noticed him change it over as we got closer to our destination.
I really do hate getting taxis in foreign countries.
I had booked our flights with Czech Airlines quite late in my planning, due to the Belarus visa issue. I knew we’d have to pay for our luggage at the airport. I had expected it to cost €25 per bag, but we were charged €35 for each one. The tickets were super cheap, so that still made it a very reasonable fare.
We could not sit together, but we could have paid more if we wanted to. We decided not to. The flight was only 1.5 hours.

We were met by our transfer company and delivered to our door, and that’s when the fun started. We passed this old fashioned tram on our trip.

This guy next to Mick looking at the car lift was the supposed security guard who’d let us in.

He wasn’t.
He told us he had nothing to do with our apartments, and we had been told lies.
Anyway, it’s a long story but we made it to our apartment and there was a lift to our third floor apartment. Yippee.

We headed out to explore our area and found a beautiful city packed with thousands of people.
Prague city at 1.3 million is as big as Estonia. So, this is the biggest place we’ve been this trip. It also is a bit scarier; we noticed a few dodgy looking characters on our walk.
Food and alcohol is the cheapest of any place we’ve been to so far.

There was a food fair of some sort a few steps from our door.

Plus we saw our second blacksmith for this trip.

We went looking for this bar advertised as having more than 100 Czech beers.
Sadly, no one wanted to serve us, so we moved on to one that would.

We also tried some local wine from this chap, which was surprisingly good.
Prague looks very interesting- I am confident we’ll enjoy our time here.
I will try one of these before we go. Every second person we saw today was. They look like cinnamon coated cones filled mostly with ice cream, but you can also get savoury fillings.

By the way – a new currency here for us – Czech Koruna which is worth at the moment 0.058 $AUD.
Yippee.
