Today is a public holiday in the Czech Republic.
It is called the Day of Czech Statehood.

This statue is of Wenceslas – who was murdered on this day in 935 by his younger brother. He was later declared a saint and he is the patron saint of the Czech Republic.
We are staying a few steps away from this statue of him, on Wenceslas Square.

This is the first part of a small procession we saw in the square today.
And below is the last section.

They were heading towards this folk area where we had lunch today. Along with mostly tourists as I’d read that the locals exit the city on these days and make a long weekend of it.

We enjoyed some live music from these folk.

We also wandered around some more streets in Prague until our feet gave in.

This is known as The Powder Tower / Gate. It is an original city gate.
Plus a few random buildings I thought looked interesting.

I forgot to include a photo of possibly the narrowest street in the world.

We observed it from the boat and were told it actually has traffic lights for pedestrians.
Dad missed the memo for โwear black only!โ
