We’ve been talking about this trip for 6 months or more, and I can hardly believe that this time next week we will be boarding our flight to Roma.
It was about 6 months ago when we were visiting Mick’s mum Kath where we got talking about our great trip to Italy in 2009. The three of us recalled with great fondness our time in Rome, Florence, and our week each in Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast. Three weeks in total.
Kath was disheartened to think there would be no more overseas trips, not with her turning 90 in January of this year. She said she was far too old to go anywhere.
But that was then, and this is now.
We have our tickets booked and the three of us are off to Sicily for two weeks, departing on Sunday 8 April for two weeks.

Why Sicily?
We loved Italy and looked for a location where the weather would still be cool. We remembered the terrible heat in June 2009 and thought none of us could cope with that.
Kath is flying Business Class, while Mick and I will only be a few rows behind her. Maybe 45!
Our plans include a 5 day stop over in Palermo, 4 nights in Siracusa and 4 nights in Taormina. We wanted to base ourselves in some key locations and use them as a base to explore further afield or to relax.
I’ve been learning basic Italian for the past 8 weeks and hope I have enough to get us by.
If you’d like to follow our trip – please do so.
Addio.
How wonderful, I’m looking forward to “join” the three of you on your trip to Italy. Cheers
Fantastic. We’re getting excited Bertha. xx
