We’d not been here (together) before.
I’d been here for a few days just over 20 years ago, so this flight home via Perth was a great chance to acquaint ourselves with Western Australia’s capital.
The city is beautifully organised.
Well spread out – you’d hardly know 2 million people live here.

The skyscape is filled with relatively new buildings – many with names linked to mining such as Rio Tinto, Fortiscue and Woodside.
We spent our first full day walking around the beautiful city malls and catching some of the free city buses. There was no need to pay to go on the Hop On Hop Off Bus.
In the afternoon we walked up to Kings Park where the views of the Swan River was impressive.

The steps were pretty steep as we walked up a memorial to the Kokoda Trail.

Perth has loads of ‘green’ space. That’s another of its appealing features.

This photo was taken only 800m from the city centre – quite an easy walk.
Yesterday we decided to go on a wine tasting tour in the Swan Valley. We visited (five wineries and one brewery).

There was plenty of great wine to taste.

It was quite cool but we found the wine warmed us up.
We had a great lunch …

… although I shared a fair bit of my platter.

Mick also enjoyed some of the displays.
We had a great day and feel as though there is much more to see and do in and around Perth.
We head off on our last flight home in a few hours. That will bring this holiday to its conclusion.
Thank you for reading my posts.
More exciting adventures coming up though.
