About 40Km south of Bouzigon, is the village of Aignan, with about a 800 residents.
The weekly market is held on the Place du Colonel Parisot every Monday morning, and it was this that brought us (and the dog) here for the morning.

This tractor drove straight through the town centre loaded with old pot plants – they weren’t for sale and we think they were something to do with the local council.
We use the the markets as an excuse to visit the towns, as there is usually a bit more happening. But today in Aignan, there were very few stalls at all. We wandered the streets and stretched our legs and found some interesting old buildings dotted along the narrow streets.

Église Saint-Saturnin – was a good spot to rest for Mick and our dog, while I had a peek inside at the church that was started in the 12th Century..
Aignan is famous for hosting an annual festival – Les fêtes de Pâques – which lasts for three days over the Easter weekend. There is lots of tapas available on each of the nights in a local hall, and on Easter Sunday there is an elaborate display of bull fighting. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but it does attract loads of tourists to see the toros.Although we bought nothing at the markets, we really enjoyed the drive through the lush countryside. And, our dog enjoyed herself as well!
