I’m unsure how many tourists have ever been to this village. I am guessing, not many.
Pionsat is located about 20 km from where we are staying. And, it is an important location for us to get to know, because this is where our soon-to-be French tutor, Mme C lives. We start our French lessons with her next Wednesday.
But today, the markets were on, so off we headed with our charges stowed safely in the car boot. See how happy they look!

Sadly, the markets here consisted of three stalls – a vegetable stall, a fromage (cheese) stall and a clothing stall. It was the most pathetic market we have ever been to in France.
But that did not stop us from enjoying the tiny village which has its own Château.

It isn’t terribly large, and there was some work in progress when ventured through the arches.
Mr H and Missie enjoyed sniffing everything here. Before leaving though, we went to the boucherie where Mick bought some meat for a slow cooked curry in the aga, and a baguette from the local boulangerie.
Mick and I have decided that when we return for our French lessons we will not be stopping here for shopping, instead we will travel a little further on to Saint Gervais as it has a decent supermarket.
Tomorrow we are going to Saint-Eloy-Les-Mines as the market is on there and we have been told it is a big market. We hope so.
