Mick’s Cooking Extravaganza

During the last ten days of our stay in the Auvergne, the weather was unseasonably cold, which gave Mick the perfect opportunity to ‘cook up a storm’ using the AGA in the home we are house sitting. He thought he may as well use some of that wood he stacked earlier in our stay as well.

He made an effort to ensure that most of the meals he prepared had a strong French influence. He paid very careful attention to detail.

Rabbit pie with homemade pastry for the base – although the puff pastry for the top he bought. It is so cheap here ranging from 50 cents to €1.20 for the better quality.

Coq au vin!

Beef Bourguignon

And, so as not to waste any heat – he also cooked a few sausages for a snack at lunch time.

Looks like he couldn’t wait to try one of them!!
