Over 400 cars, each of them in full working order; some you can even pay to drive around a mini racing track – for a hefty price; and supposedly “the leading car museum in the world”.
But, not in my books….. because the were no Jags!!
This is a photo of my car, and I would have thought there would be some of these beauties in this museum.
The brochures states that “all the prestigious car-makes are on display.” But there was a very heavy emphasis on European car makers, in particular Bugatti. The man who originally owned this collection was obsessed with Bugatti – cars designed by the Italian-born, French car manufacturer Ettore Bugatti.
Despite my criticism, it was a magnificent display that went on and on. And, although I took quite a few photos, I have selected a very small portion to share in this post.

It was hard to get a shot that shows how expansive the display was, but after almost 3 hours of walking around, totalling several kilometres, we can tell you it was enormous. And, every car was spotless.

Mick loved seeing them all, up as close as he was allowed.
This one below had a beautiful timber box on its running boards to carry a picnic perhaps.

Most of the cars were huge…
Long and sleek….
But one of my favourites was called L‘Oeuf – or the egg: a one cylinder car designed in 1942 . And, apparently some were still in circulation in the 1980s.

This next one, was a personal favourite of the owner of the collection. He apparently would drive this Gullwing Mercedes around Mulhouse.

But the pride of place in the collection was this next one – Ettore Bugattis’ very own Royale.

If you get the chance to visit – GO!!!
