Our time with Mr D, the slightly-neurotic cat, went very quickly. Maybe too quickly.
Mick and I had initial concerns about how we would cope with him and his home and the rules, but he was the easiest animal we have ever had to care for, and we made good use of the excellent location of his home to explore Montpellier and its surround. We really liked Montpellier.
As soon as Mr D’s owners returned, and we had updated them on all the goings on that occurred while they were away, we said ‘au revoir‘ and caught a train to Lyon where we then spent almost an hour before catching a second train to Dijon, arriving quite late for Mick and me at around 9.30pm. But it is a long way – about 500Km.
We had selected to stay in Dijon because we have never been here before, and it is on our way to our next house sit. We will spend three nights here before making our way, via Paris, to the location of our next assignment.
One interesting fact, for me anyway, is that Dijon is in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region, making it the third region, of eighteen in France, we have been in over the past three days. Not that it is a competition, however Mick and I are keen to explore the wines of this region, Burgundy as it was previously known, while we are here. No surprises there. Will keep you posted.
I took this as we wandered to find our hotel around 10pm. The flashing green light on the pharmacie near our hotel showed 30 degrees!!!!
