Hyden to Perth – The End of our WA Tour

We drove directly to Perth Airport to return the hire car – a day earlier than I had planned, but this will mean we can have a full day exploring the city tomorrow.

I can’t say it was a totally smooth end to our trip. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, my Maps App on my iPhone likes to take me to some weird spot, and not the address I have selected. It took us a few laps around ‘the vicinity’ until I recognised the hire company. We were about 1Km away from where my phone wanted me to go!!

Anyway, we are safely in our apartment in the Perth CBD and we will venture out to explore the city a little more tonight and tomorrow.

This is my last post for this adventure.

Our next trip is just under 9 weeks away, when we will fly to Tasmania for a three and a half week (winery) exploration of that state. Unlike this trip, it will not be planned, except for the first few days and the final day.

Mick likes to be spontaneous, but I don’t like surprises. Anyway, we will see.

Thanks to those of you who have joined our WA Adventure.

One final thing we saw today that made us smile as we travelled along the Brookton Highway.

I have borrowed this image from the internet – as we were going too fast!!

Just outside the small town of Corrigin, we spotted this large statue of a dog marking the location of a dog cemetery. It was apparently started in 1974 and has more than 200 graves farewelling man’s best friend.
