We decided to take a slow trip to Perth in order to visit some of the local coastal destinations. We stopped for morning tea in Bunbury and this helped to confirm Mick’s and my conclusion that Busselton is streets ahead of Bunbury!
We travelled up the Old Coast Road once we left Bunbury and when we arrived in Mandurah we were surprised by the size and scale of the homes around the waterways – absolute mansions. Obviously a lot of money is on show in this town.

I borrowed this image to demonstrate some of the beauty of this place, by showcasing the waterfront project. Mandurah was voted Western Australia’s Top Tourist Town for 2022.
We continued on to Rockingham for a lunch break. And what is better than fish and chips when you are in a coastal location?

I was surprised to learn that Rockingham is considered a suburb of Perth, even though it is 47km from the Perth CBD.
One of the things Rockingham is famous for is its tours to Penguin Island. Perhaps on our next visit??
Our time in WA has flown. Our last night will be spent in a hotel close to the airport so we can get our flight out in the morning.
Thanks again for joining us on this wine tasting holiday. Mick and I now need to spend the next week “being good”!
