Königstein

We were very happy to get out of Frankfurt on the train this morning. (By the way, German trains are fantastic. Clean, reliable and on time. It is very easy to understand the timetables and the tickets are very reasonably priced. It cost us €4.10 each to get the train to here – about 40 km).

We found V’s home very easily. It is conveniently located in the middle of town. A short stroll from the supermarket and a short stroll to a wooded walking trail. We took Boppa the poodle for a walk with V which was good as the dog is so fast and crazy and loves to run at a 100 miles per hour, it was better we saw this while V was here. We had to bath Boppa when we got back.

Michael is very happy as he found a supermarket here where he can buy a six x 500ml bottle pack of Belgium beer for €1.69, less than 30 cents / bottle. The beer tastes fantastic. He is also happy as V has 100s of TV stations, including English and American.

Boppa the dog is very friendly and seems to like us. Our biggest worry will be losing him when we take him on a walk.

V’s home is beautifully decorated and over 4 floors. We will be super comfortable here. On Friday some paying guests will come to stay for 2 nights in one of the floors and we will change the linen and be the hosts. We are looking forward to this. The guests are American so my German will not be necessary.

Konigstein is a very beautiful town. See this linlinkk for some images from here, although we have not seen all of it at this stage. We will go for walks each day with Boppa.

We will stay here until we fly out for the UK on the 10/7 for our next house sitting assignment.
