Actually it is called the Restauracja Targ Rybny.
I had read great reviews about this fish restaurant and we wisely made a booking in advance. After the feast in Arcachon, which was way too much food, we carefully selected the following from the extensive menu.
Michael had the Baltic herrings which were served cold (which was a bit of a surprise for him) drizzled with some Goldwasser – which is the vodka of Gdansk and has suspended flakes of 22-23 carat gold in it. He thought they were delicious. While I chose a cheese soup. We then ordered a tapas platter recommended by the chef which included different types of fish mostly served raw.
The favourite was the raw Matias (one year old herrings from the Baltic) in a delicious marinade. You can see how Michael liked it.
We finished the meal with a typical Polish drink. I had a warm drink made from lemons, ginger and Goldwasser, while Michael had a typical Gdansk vodka called Źubrówka, but referred to as grass vodka.
We only had to walk about 100m home and we stopped at a little shop and bought a small bottle of the Źubrówka. That’s when things got a little out of hand!

What a great day and I love the Zubrowka… and the captians cap
