We enjoyed a curry meal last night with lots of local people. Very cheap. Called something like “curry cut”. We pointed to the meat we wanted and the fellow used scissors to cut it into pieces and then spooned on a curry sauce. We added beans and vegetables and rice, and it cost us less than $3.50 each.
We had previously been caught up in a terrible crime scene, literally a half a block from where we were staying. We were trying to walk along a footpath and there were dozens of people watching two policeman who had blocked off the road. They had discovered a gruesome murder victim in a suitcase. It was terrible and we could not get out of there quickly enough. It was front page news this morning.
We were surprised to see the wording used to describe the murder. The paper reported the Police describing this as an “unnatural death”. An understatement really.
After some more sightseeing this morning and a late checkout, we headed to the airport. We did very well fitting all our gear into our bags – Michael’s bag has gone from 16 – 21Kg, while mine has gone from 15-18Kg. Not bad really, and yes he is carrying a lot of mine.
We have had a fabulous 6.5 weeks away, but are looking forward to being home. Thank you to those of you who have followed the blog and my silly ramblings. I have enjoyed it, and this acts as a diary for me of our adventures.
Unsure where we’ll head to next, but it will possibly be in Australia. I’ll let you know in case you are interested.
By the way, breakfast this morning consisted of pasta noddles and KFC-style chicken wings. I am really looking forward to porridge on Saturday morning.
And here I was thinking how safe Singapore was. Love the breakfasts…..are you sure you were’nt just late and it was actually lunch!!
Ha ha Barrie.
