Getting to Cambridge

We have not flown internationally with Qantas for some time – and we were pleasantly surprised as the first leg to Singapore was excellent: lots of spare seats, lots of wine and no bumps!

Waiting five hours in Changi for the next leg was bearable, at least we could stretch our legs as we roamed the enormous terminal. We also used this time to catch up on the shocking news about President Trump. As my brother Patrick pointed out, the date Aussies found out about this news was 9/11.  I’ll say no more.

On Edward’s advice we flew into Terminal 5 with British Airways. This was our best ever experience with immigration procedures at Heathrow. We’ll be doing that again for sure.

Edward met us in Cambridge and took us on a tour of some of the colleges. Trinity is featured below.

We even spotted some people punting on the Cam. You will need to look closely though.

Edward is at Downing College and we are staying here tonight too in a very swish apartment. The next two photos show the dining hall – inside and out.

We miss out on attending a formal dinner this time – but hopefully we’ll be back when the dates work for that.

We are heading out for a few drinks and dinner this evening and then looking forward to a good night’s sleep.

Off to Barcelona in the morning.
