Cambridge to Barcelona

This was taken at the Champion of Cambridge pub where we enjoyed a few ales / red wines before having dinner at The Olive Grove – a cute Greek restaurant near to Downing College.

Mick and I tried hard to keep our eyes open, but by 8pm we had to give in and go to bed.

After breakfast with Edward we caught a taxi to the railway station and headed for Stansted Airport. Now, this place is huge or at least much bigger than we had thought. I had purchased Business + tickets for about an extra £20 on Ryanair and it was worth it. We were rushed through check in and security screening and were ready to board the plane first to get to our seats 1A and 1B when there was an issue with the doors – they wouldn’t open to let us out. So after a series of buses and delays we took off about 40 minutes late BUT landed on time. The weather is perfect – much cooler than when we visited a few years ago and no where near as cold as England was.

Look at our view

That’s Gaudi’s Pedrera in the background. We hope to dine there tomorrow evening on advice from our friends Sue and Greg. But, we have a full day’s tour ahead of us tomorrow so I hope we hold up.

We are off to tour the Gaudi highlights of Barcelona tomorrow plus visit Montserrat in the afternoon. I will tell you all about it later.
