Mick has always claimed to be a quick healer. So, strapped in his ankle brace, and on his insistence, we caught two buses to the seaside. This time to a very popular town called Collioure. There was some walking involved but it was quite gentle and we went at a slower pace.
I have a sneaking suspicion though Mick was determined to show me he is fit enough to go to the New Year’s Eve party at the local bar tonight.

There were a number of these empty frames visitors could use for the perfect snap.

It was indeed very pretty and we could see how busy this place would be in the summer.
Take a look at the next photo and spot the anomaly.

Even Mick didn’t wear shorts today, but this woman was bracing herself for a dip while the young boy was suitably rugged up against the cold.

We walked slowly to the area you can see behind me where we had a long lunch and a good sticky beak. 👀
Mick had been wanting to try the moules and frites since we arrived, and he enjoyed all 42 of them.

The waitress came and emptied Mick’s bowl of shells several times during his effort, but I kept looking at this fellow who had ordered the same thing but had obviously had them many times before and had OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). I was suitably impressed as he ate all of his using a shell as chopsticks and then stacked the empty shells inside each other. I took a sneaky photo which only shows him halfway through, but he ended up with two sweeping towers. I was very impressed.

We just missed catching this one hour ferry ride. I think we would have enjoyed that very much.

But I was very grateful for Mick’s sacrifice so we could see this place.
Looks as though we’re off to a party tonight.
Happy New Year
