Our First Day Solo

Our host family left quite late yesterday evening to catch their flight to Malta, and both Mick and I were worn out from doing nothing much, so we put all the animals to bed and headed there ourselves.

Despite a thunderstorm around 9pm last night, it was a beautiful day this morning here so I drove our hostesses’ ‘dog’ car about 500m along a rocky track she’d shown us yesterday in order for the dogs to get their daily walk.

It was pleasantly cool at 7.00am and each of us enjoyed our walk.

The dogs walk off-lead and will return when called because they get a treat.

The littlest one tears around like crazy for 45 minutes while the two bigger ones are happy to stay fairly close.

With it being summer over here, there is a fair bit of watering that is required and we spent some time doing that today.

The home we are staying in is typically French.

Around 7pm the chooks and goose and duck have to be put away. Mick is like the Pied Piper. He loves it.
