It started so well – only 19 minutes from hotel checkout to arriving at Nuremberg Airport.

Our plane arrived on time in Berlin and then the dramas began.
The bus I thought we were catching wasn’t exactly the right one. But that wasn’t the problem either. I bought the tickets from the driver and squeezed on the front of the bus, while Mick was way down the end of the two carriage, articulated bus, but still on the pavement with all our luggage. The bus took off and for a few minutes I was unsure if he was even on the bus.
But, he was.
The women next to me explained where we had to get off and where to catch the right train. We followed her like a school excursion group and shortly were on the right train.
Next issue – where do the trams leave from?
Out the front- OK. Sorted.
Now, which direction do we go? The young women we asked assured us we were on the right platform but just as I’d hopped on, Mick saw the map and knew it was the wrong way. A kind young man hopped off with us at the next stop and walked us (almost back to where we’d caught it) to the right tram stop. He waited with us until it arrived, gave us each a lolly, and waved us goodbye.
Once we had met our wonderful AirBNB hostess, we headed out. Only an hour late, but Mick knew this brew pub was very close to us and he didn’t want to miss out.
It was Friday night after all.

It was so busy. Can you spot Mick lined up waiting to be served?

After two, we headed out to a restaurant recommended by our hostess and had to stop in at Irish Pub on the way.

Just for one more.
We had an excellent meal and headed home very happy with how the day had finished.
Mick was impressed with this bar we passed on our walk home. I think he will be back to visit before we go.
